Hi, I’m Jeremy.
I’m an entrepreneur and software engineer. I grew up in Fresno, California, went to computer camp as a kid, and never really stopped tinkering. I live in Southern California now.
I co-founded inVibe in 2013, a voice research company that was acquired by THREAD in 2022. I still run product for inVibe inside THREAD.
Most of my recent work has been around language models and the product teams building with them. I first got hooked during the GPT-3 private beta in 2020, and by 2021 I was writing about how it could unlock deeper listening at inVibe. I’ve been building with LLMs ever since.
I like small teams, long attention spans, and software that takes the user’s job seriously.
Work
- inVibe Voice research platform. Co-founder; acquired by THREAD in 2022. 2013 ->
- THREAD Clinical research platform helping life science teams run accessible, efficient, patient-centered studies. 2022 ->
- AI tinkering Experiments with language models, agents, and the shape of useful AI products. 2023 ->
A few things I believe
- Build for listening. Useful products start with hearing the person who has the problem, not just reading a summary of the problem.
- Co-create with users. Users have jobs to be done. Partnering directly with them beats guessing from a whiteboard.
- Understand the why. Every initiative should be anchored to a reason important enough to justify the work.
- Delegate responsibilities, not tasks. Trust people with whole things. Accountability follows ownership.
